Dallas Hail Roof Evidence

What this shows: After roughly 2.5 inch hail in Dallas: granules in gutters, dents in soft metals and impact marks on shingles. It is on the site because those three clues are what a homeowner can check before calling anyone.

Two and a half inch hail is tennis ball size, and at that size the question is no longer whether a roof was damaged but how much of it and in what pattern. Stones that large break shingle mats outright rather than bruising them, split ridge caps, dent metal deeply enough to see from the ground, and commonly crack skylights and shatter solar panels on the same elevation. Pattern still matters: hail arrives on the wind, so damage concentrates on the slopes facing the storm and can be nearly absent on the leeward side of the same roof. A record that treats each slope separately is worth considerably more than one that treats the roof as a single item.
