Hidden In Plain Sight

Easter Eggs

This site has small touches that are easy to miss. None of them are tricks. Each one is there to make the site easier, faster or calmer to use. Here is where to find them.

Look Up

Start at the very top of the page

The pause button

The small square at the far right of the top bar pauses the motion on the site, and it stays paused as you move from page to page. Press it again to start it.

Notes behind the labels

On a computer, rest your mouse on an item in the top bar, like HQ: Round Rock, and a short note explains it.

Buttons that show the number

On a computer, rest your mouse on Call or Text and the number appears, so you can dial from any phone. On a phone, one tap starts the call or text.

Read Your Way

Long pages come in two lengths

Short and Full

Long pages open in a short version. The Short and Full switch under the page title opens every section at once.

The bar that keeps your place

The bar of section names under the title jumps to any part of the page and lights up the part you are reading.

A quick way back up

Scroll down a long page and a small arrow button appears near the bottom corner. It takes you back to the top.

Tucked Inside

Tools you may have walked past

Ask Shepherd can look at a photo

The Ask Shepherd AI chat can look at a photo you send. Add a photo of your roof or ceiling along with your question. It does not replace an inspection.

Zoom into the roof

On the Roofing System Anatomy page, click a drawing to zoom in. On a phone, pinch to zoom and drag to move around.

Find your city by typing

On the service area pages, start typing a city name and the list narrows as you type.

Save us to your phone

The Quick Links page has a contact card. Tap it to open the card, then save our name and number to your contacts.

Small Touches

Details built in on purpose

A slow line of color

On the home page, the thin line across the top of the main panel changes color very slowly. One full pass takes 40 seconds.

It respects your settings

If your phone or computer is set to reduce motion, the color line and other effects hold still without you asking.

Icons that wait their turn

The small icons only move while they are on your screen. They stop when you scroll past, so nothing runs where you cannot see it.
