What this video shows
What this shows: Several Leander homes in the same area with missing and lifted shingles after strong wind, found while inspecting roofs nearby. It belongs here because it shows how wind damage spreads across a neighborhood and is often missed from the ground.
Wind damage is easy to miss from the ground. A missing shingle shows, but a shingle that was lifted, creased and laid back down often looks normal from the yard while its seal and fasteners have let go. Once that happens the shingle can lift again in the next wind, and the exposed area below it can let water in. Wind also tends to hit a neighborhood rather than a single house, so when one roof on a street has lost shingles, the roofs around it are worth a closer look too. A check after a strong wind event, with photos of what is missing, lifted or creased, gives a homeowner a dated record before small failures turn into leaks.
