What this video shows
What this shows: Documented hail damage across several Dallas and Fort Worth homes, including shattered solar panels, after roughly 2.5 inch hail. It is on the site because it shows the scale one storm can reach.
A hailstorm large enough to shatter solar panels has done things to the rest of the property that are easy to miss while looking at the roof. Panels themselves are a separate conversation from the roof they are mounted on, often a separate warranty and sometimes a separate policy endorsement, and the mounts and flashings under them are a roof matter that nobody can see until the array comes off. On the same elevation, expect to check skylights, turbine and box vents, the air conditioning condenser, window screens, garage doors and painted siding. Documenting the whole property rather than the roof alone is what keeps a covered item from being left off the estimate.
