What this video shows

What this shows: A Round Rock roof inspection that documents shingle wear, exposed flashing and spots where wind-driven rain could enter the roofing system. It belongs here as an overview of what a roof inspection looks at across the whole system.

Most roof problems that matter cannot be seen from the driveway. Shingle wear shows up up close as granule loss and thinning in the areas that take the most sun and water. Flashing, the metal that seals walls, chimneys and penetrations, can become exposed as sealant shrinks and shingles shift, and that exposed edge is where water finds a way in. Wind-driven rain is the other test. Rain that falls straight down may never reach a weak spot that sideways rain will find during a storm. An inspection that walks the roof and photographs each of these areas gives a homeowner a clear picture of the whole system, and a dated record to compare against after the next storm.
