What this video shows
What this shows: Underlayment quality in Leander, the layer homeowners never see that often decides long-term performance. It belongs here to explain what sits under the shingles.
Two roofs with the same shingle on them are not the same roof. What sits under the shingle, the underlayment, the ice and water membrane in the valleys, the drip edge at the eave and the condition of the decking itself, is most of what determines whether the assembly lasts its rated life. None of it is visible once the roof is finished and none of it shows up in a bid that lists only a shingle brand and a color. The practical response as a homeowner is to ask what underlayment is being used, whether the valleys get a membrane, and what happens if bad decking turns up during tear off. A roofer who answers those three easily is telling you something.
