Fort Worth Zone

Hail Alley

Willow Park sits in North Texas, which records the most hailstorms in Texas in a typical year, the state logged 878 major hail events in 2024. Documentation after a storm protects your position before any contractor conversation. Willow Park is a fast-growing Parker County city south of Arlington, with newer suburban homes exposed to recurring North Texas hail.

Hail & Storm Exposure

NOAA’s verified record since 2018 within 10 miles of Willow Park includes 3 inch hail at Weatherford on June 1, 2025; 3 inch hail at Lake Weatherford on June 1, 2025. 22 thunderstorm wind events and 0 tornado reports sit inside the same window. Peak hail months here: June and May. Across Parker County as a whole, NOAA logged 138 hail events from 2016 through 2025, with hail to 3 inches, plus 54 damaging thunderstorm wind events and 11 tornado reports.

HOA & Material Considerations

Many Parker County neighborhoods carry HOA architectural review requirements on shingle color and material. Given the hail exposure, impact-resistant (UL 2218 Class 3 to 4) shingles are worth discussing. Confirm HOA rules before selecting materials.

Common Roofing Issues

Repeated large-hail exposure means bruised shingles, granule loss, and soft-metal damage to vents and flashing, conditions a documented inspection captures before the next storm makes them worse.

Neighborhood Exposure

Neighborhoods across Willow Park (Parker County) vary by lot elevation, tree cover, and roof age, so block-level documentation beats area-wide estimates. After any significant storm, a documented record of visible conditions protects your position.

If your roof was on the house for any of those dates, that is worth documenting whether or not you ever filed anything. A dated condition record is far easier to produce now than to reconstruct later.

Permits are a Willow Park question, not a Texas question. Texas has no statewide building code for residential roofing. Each city and county adopts its own, so the threshold that triggers a permit, the fee, and whether a deck inspection is required before cover-up are all set locally in Parker County. A contractor who cannot tell you which jurisdiction issues your permit, and who pulls it, has not done this here often. We pull it in our own name.

I happened to stumble across David while out walking my dogs and I am so glad I did! Godley had just been hit with a hail storm and needed someone to take a look at my roof to check for damage. David came the very next day to inspect. He showed me pictures of the damage and answered any questions I had. Thankfully the damage was not extensive that a roof replacement was needed but if indeed a replacement was needed I would’ve felt at ease with David completing the process. I especially liked his professionalism and knowledge. Should I ever need anyone for roofing services I will definitely be calling him!

The Roof Shepherd LLC, came to my rescued in time when I was struggling to find help with my damaged roof. My home insurance at the time refused to provide help or pay for the damage to my roof at the time unless I pay the substantial amount they requested up front of ($28,500). I felt so lost, confused and helpless worrying on how to pay this and keep my home safe and prevent the roof from worse leaks due to bad weather and heavy rain our area was receiving at the time. Three months in praying asking God for help. On May 10th 2026, Saturday morning my doorbell rang. When I open the door I was met with a brighter smile of a man whom introduced himself as David Rodriguez and he wanted to speak with me about my roof. And that's when this beautiful blessed "Roof Shepherd" enter my heart ❤️, and my home. I praise God for His blessings and prayers answered. David the "Roof Shepherd" stuck with me and promise me that he will help me with my problems. He pray with, walked me through every difficult steps I needed to go through. From May 10th through November 7th we finally received the financial help I needed. I had also asked David to help me search for a new home insurance and yes, he came through that for me as well. God answered my prayers in time when I needed help and I could not thank Him enough. I thank you David for your service, you've never given up on me when I was struggling along the way. It was a long depressed and difficult 6 months but you were still there for me till end. I'm very proud to say, I now have a beautiful strong Roof on my house, and a reasonable well managed Home/Auto insurance. Yes I will and do recommend "The Roof Shepherd" 💯 to anyone and everyone who are struggling and are experiencing the same problem and difficult I've gone through with my Roof and home insurance. Please open your mind and give them a chance. They will answer all your questions and help you find the answers and solutions they see fit and helpful for you. The Roof Shepherd is amazing. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Getting a new roof can be stressful, but he made the process super easy. He answered all our questions and concerns, worked with our insurance company, and gave us a good price for a new Class 4 roof. The workers were very courteous and professional — they went the extra mile, made sure everything was okay in the attic, worked around the gutters, installed new vents, and later repaired our shed connected to the house. They got everything done in one day, hours ahead of schedule. I highly recommend The Roof Shepherd to anyone that needs a new roof!

Owner Response

Thank you so much for this review. It really means a lot. Getting a new roof can be stressful, so I’m grateful we were able to make the process easier, walk through the insurance side, answer your questions, and get your Class 4 impact-rated roof installed the right way. I also appreciate you mentioning the crew — they worked hard, stayed professional, handled the attic and ventilation details, worked carefully around the gutters, and helped make sure the shed repair was taken care of afterward. Thank you again for trusting The Roof Shepherd with your home and for recommending us. It was a privilege to serve your family.

Exterior & Painting

What Willow Park, TX homeowners should know about exterior work

Local Paint & Exterior Note

Willow Park, the Parker County seat with deep railroad heritage, mixes older homes near its historic downtown with newer subdivisions. Older frame and brick homes need routine exterior paint and wood care, while newer builds focus on trim and flashing.

Sequence Matters

Exterior painting and repair work should follow, not precede, roofing documentation. Condition notes from a roof visit often surface fascia rot, gutter separation, and trim damage that affect painting scope and cost before a single brush stroke is applied.

Willow Park FAQs

Common questions in Willow Park

Does The Roof Shepherd work in Willow Park?

Yes. The Roof Shepherd provides roof inspection, storm documentation, and homeowner guidance across Willow Park and Parker County. Beyond inspection and documentation, full roofing is available through our trusted partner network, from first look through installation, on one consistent documentation standard.

How quickly can I get a roof inspection in Willow Park?

Active leaks and post-storm documentation are prioritized. Send your address and a short description of the concern and we’ll follow up with a current estimate.

Is Willow Park in a hail-prone area?

NOAA records log 57 hail events within 10 miles of Willow Park since 2018. The largest stone in the full NOAA archive, 2000 to 2026, measured 3 inches on March 30, 2002. Willow Park sits in the North Texas hail corridor, among the most hail-active metro areas in the country. Documenting visible roof and gutter conditions after any significant storm is good practice.

Hail and wind. North Texas spring storms bring large hail and, less often, tornadoes. Documenting roof condition after any major hail or wind event protects your position.
