Fate At A Glance
What homeowners in Fate should know
Hail Alley
Fate sits in North Texas, which records the most hailstorms in Texas in a typical year, the state logged 529 hail events in 2024. Independent documentation after a storm protects your position before any contractor conversation. Fate is the Fate County seat east of Dallas near Lake Ray Hubbard, a fast-growing community in North Texas hail country.
Hail & Storm Exposure
NOAA’s 30 year record holds 101 verified hail reports within 10 miles of Fate since 1996, inside the North Texas hail alley. The busiest single year in that record was 2023, with 14 reports inside the ring.
HOA & Material Considerations
Many Fate County neighborhoods carry HOA architectural review requirements on shingle color and material. Given the hail exposure, impact-resistant (UL 2218 Class 3 to 4) shingles are worth discussing. Confirm HOA rules before selecting materials.
Common Roofing Issues
Repeated large-hail exposure means bruised shingles, granule loss, and soft-metal damage to vents and flashing, conditions a documented inspection captures before the next storm makes them worse.

What Texas homeowners say
We just got into town after a long-distance move, and after looking at our new house we realized the builder paint was pretty bad. We wanted to get all the walls repainted fast before we moved in, and ended up getting connected with David. We’re super happy with everything — David and his crew were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative the whole time, and the work came out great. David even noticed some other builder issues and had the crew fix them while they were there. Turnaround was lightning fast, and we didn’t have to change our move-in schedule at all.
Owner Response
Thank you so much for this thoughtful review. I know how stressful a long-distance move can be, especially when you’re trying to get settled and realize the home still needs work before move-in. I’m grateful you trusted us to help get the painting handled quickly, and I’m glad the crew were able to deliver quality work while keeping communication clear throughout the project. We also appreciate you noticing the extra details we addressed along the way — when we see issues that can reasonably be corrected while we’re already there, we try to do the right thing and help protect the home. Thank you again for trusting us, and we’d be honored to help with anything else you need in the future.

The Roof Shepherd LLC, came to my rescued in time when I was struggling to find help with my damaged roof. My home insurance at the time refused to provide help or pay for the damage to my roof at the time unless I pay the substantial amount they requested up front of ($28,500). I felt so lost, confused and helpless worrying on how to pay this and keep my home safe and prevent the roof from worse leaks due to bad weather and heavy rain our area was receiving at the time. Three months in praying asking God for help. On May 10th 2026, Saturday morning my doorbell rang.
