Growth & Construction

Gatesville sits within Coryell County, an area that has seen ongoing residential growth across Central Texas. New construction and resale inspections both benefit from an independent condition review before any roofing decision. U.S. Census data puts Gatesville near 37,000 residents, about 59% owner-occupied, with a median home value in the $170,000s and a median build year around 1989, so much of this Fort Hood-area housing stock is well into roof-replacement age.

HOA & Material Considerations

The Roof Shepherd is amazing. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Getting a new roof can be stressful, but he made the process super easy. He answered all our questions and concerns, worked with our insurance company, and gave us a good price for a new Class 4 roof. The workers were very courteous and professional — they went the extra mile, made sure everything was okay in the attic, worked around the gutters, installed new vents, and later repaired our shed connected to the house. They got everything done in one day, hours ahead of schedule. I highly recommend The Roof Shepherd to anyone that needs a new roof!

Owner Response

Thank you so much for this review. It really means a lot. Getting a new roof can be stressful, so I’m grateful we were able to make the process easier, walk through the insurance side, answer your questions, and get your Class 4 impact-rated roof installed the right way. I also appreciate you mentioning the crew — they worked hard, stayed professional, handled the attic and ventilation details, worked carefully around the gutters, and helped make sure the shed repair was taken care of afterward. Thank you again for trusting The Roof Shepherd with your home and for recommending us. It was a privilege to serve your family.

We just got into town after a long-distance move, and after looking at our new house we realized the builder paint was pretty bad. We wanted to get all the walls repainted fast before we moved in, and ended up getting connected with David. We’re super happy with everything — David and his crew were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative the whole time, and the work came out great. David even noticed some other builder issues and had the crew fix them while they were there. Turnaround was lightning fast, and we didn’t have to change our move-in schedule at all.

Owner Response

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review. I know how stressful a long-distance move can be, especially when you’re trying to get settled and realize the home still needs work before move-in. I’m grateful you trusted us to help get the painting handled quickly, and I’m glad the crew were able to deliver quality work while keeping communication clear throughout the project. We also appreciate you noticing the extra details we addressed along the way — when we see issues that can reasonably be corrected while we’re already there, we try to do the right thing and help protect the home. Thank you again for trusting us, and we’d be honored to help with anything else you need in the future.

David and his crew did a fantastic job inspecting our home. When they did the inspection in the attic they found subpar work done by the home builder which, if it had not been discovered, would have cost us well over $10K to correct. Roof joists were two feet short and not attached to anything — just left hanging, with no joist brackets. In time our roof would have collapsed. Thank you, Roof Shepherd.

Owner Response

Andrew, thank you for trusting us with your home in Round Rock. I’m grateful we were able to take the time to look beyond the surface of the roof and evaluate the attic, ventilation, and structural conditions affecting the roof system. A roof can look prematurely aged for reasons that aren’t always visible from the outside. In this case, the attic inspection and documentation helped identify serious underlying concerns before they became a much larger and more expensive problem. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. This is exactly why The Roof Shepherd focuses on careful inspection, clear documentation, and helping homeowners understand what is really going on with their roof before making major decisions. Thank you again for the opportunity to help.

The Roof Shepherd LLC, came to my rescued in time when I was struggling to find help with my damaged roof. My home insurance at the time refused to provide help or pay for the damage to my roof at the time unless I pay the substantial amount they requested up front of ($28,500). I felt so lost, confused and helpless worrying on how to pay this and keep my home safe and prevent the roof from worse leaks due to bad weather and heavy rain our area was receiving at the time. Three months in praying asking God for help. On May 10th 2026, Saturday morning my doorbell rang. When I open the door I was met with a brighter smile of a man whom introduced himself as David Rodriguez and he wanted to speak with me about my roof. And that's when this beautiful blessed "Roof Shepherd" enter my heart ❤️, and my home. I praise God for His blessings and prayers answered. David the "Roof Shepherd" stuck with me and promise me that he will help me with my problems. He pray with, walked me through every difficult steps I needed to go through. From May 10th through November 7th we finally received the financial help I needed. I had also asked David to help me search for a new home insurance and yes, he came through that for me as well. God answered my prayers in time when I needed help and I could not thank Him enough. I thank you David for your service, you've never given up on me when I was struggling along the way. It was a long depressed and difficult 6 months but you were still there for me till end. I'm very proud to say, I now have a beautiful strong Roof on my house, and a reasonable well managed Home/Auto insurance. Yes I will and do recommend "The Roof Shepherd" 💯 to anyone and everyone who are struggling and are experiencing the same problem and difficult I've gone through with my Roof and home insurance. Dave was great — he went above and beyond what any company would do. There were major issues with my insurance company, and he was there every step of the way helping me get things done. Dave and his crew were great — they made sure my motorcycle was covered up properly during the work, and they cleaned up beautifully when they were done.

Owner Response

Thank you so much for this review and for trusting me and the crew with your home. I know this project had some difficult moments, especially with the insurance side of the process, and I’m grateful I was able to help with documentation, communication, and support along the way. It also means a lot that you noticed the care the crew took around your property and the cleanup after the roof was completed, because protecting the property matters just as much as the roof itself. I truly appreciate your kind words and your trust.
